Melbourn Judo Club was founded in 1980 and currently has around 100 members. The latest club profile is shown below:
The club has club mark standard and 4 qualified coaches (1 UKCC level 3, 2 UKCC level 2 and 1 instructor’s award). In September 2005 the club relocated to Royston Leisure Centre, where with the help of funding from North Herts District Council, the club has replaced and enlarged it’s mat area to over 230 sq. metres for practice and competitions.
Club Fees are currently; £80.00 per 6 months. Fees are paid in advance, in April and October of each year. On taking up club membership, members must also join the British Judo Association.
Activities
We hold internal gradings and club championships each term. The club is affiliated to the British Judo Association, which is the Sport’s National Governing Body, and is a very active member club of the Eastern Area, taking part in numerous competitions and training events each year.
